Where Is the I Love You Wall?
Located in the romantic neighborhood of Montmartre, on a street behind the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, the “I Love You Wall” is the creation of two local artists, Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito.
Le mur des je t’aime is a wall, indeed. This wall hosts a giant mural consisting from blue tiles featuring the words “I Love You” written in hundreds of different languages and dialects.

Why Visit It?
For couples visiting Paris, the “I Love You” wall provides the ultimate romantic backdrop for taking photos together. I can surely understand them.
I was also very impressed when my then new French boyfriend took me to the I love You Wall.
Things To Do by the I Love You Wall
The first thing to do is to try to find the “I Love You” words in your language. I think it took me a couple of minutes to find the Romanian version, “te iubesc.”
Everybody takes photos in front of the wall; you can expect long waiting lines at all times.
Many choose to frame themselves within one of the numerous red metal hearts attached to the railings in front of the installation.
You can embrace, kiss, or simply gaze into each other’s eyes in this picturesque setting.
Other couples bring their own “love locks” to attach them to the railings in front of the wall.
How To Get There & Opening Hours
To find the I Love You Wall, you need to get to Abbesses metro station, then take Rue la Vieuville, and then turn left to arrive to Jehan Rictus Square, the exact location of the love wall.
Access to the wall is free.
Jehan Rictus Square opens at 8:00 AM from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays it opens at 9:00 AM.
The closing time depends on the season. Click here to see the current closing times on the official website of Le mur des je t’aime.
Aside from its romantic draw, the “I Love You” wall carries an inspiring message about universal love that crosses cultures, religions, ethnicities, and countries. It’s a celebration of affection in all its forms.
